WHS Community Blood Drive Event!

Congrats to both our Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for their victories over St. Michael's last night on Senior Night. We will miss our soon to be graduates and thank them for their contributions to WHS Athletics! #VikingProud #GoVikes
Soon, our teams head to Regionals and possibly even state. Currently, the Boys are ranked 20th in 1A and the girls #8. St. Michael girls were # 3 in 1A! A great upset victory at home on Senior Night for the Lady Vikes!

Valentine's Day is coming soon. Many classes are participating in a Valentine's exchange. If your child's class is, and you are purchasing cards, please save any extras and send them to WEMS. Also, if you are in need of V-Day cards, please see Mr. Wollman, he may have extras.

Kudos and a shout out to Mrs. Schober, our WHS ELA Teacher, for her consistent and constant academic focus in her classroom. There is always an academic focus with rigor, along with high levels of student academic engagement. We are thankful that she is a Viking!

Hello families! There is an opportunity to sign up and attend a free parenting workshop (with free childcare provided by our very own Ms. Windham). The class will focus on brain development, preventing tantrums, and preparing your child for school success. Follow the attachment for registration details.

I just want to give Liz Baca, a paraprofessional in our special services department, a huge falcon shout out. She is always there to show our students she cares, and has so much patience. Liz thanks so much for having such a big heart! #thewilliamsway

Greetings WHS Families: Please help me in welcoming Mrs. Melissa Cameron to the WHS Family as our 3rd Quarter Substitute Math Teacher for Mrs. Monty's classroom. Mrs. Mayra Kmetz will continue to sub at BOTH WHS and WEMS daily, in our newer, full time Substitute position.

Congratulations to our WEMS Spelling Bee Finalists--3rd place winner Micka Davis, 2nd place winner Thomas Gonzales, and school champion Izzy Rushing! There were some super hard words and all three of these spellers were great. Good luck to Izzy at the county bee in February!

More Friday Fun with WUSD!

WUSD # 2 Friday PD Fun!

Fly High tomorrow Falcons!

Kudos to Ms. Noble and Ms. Moreno and our WHS Culinary Team for a wonderful dinner at our Annual Fall Sports Banquet. #BuiltToServe #TheWilliamsWay

A Falcon Shout-Out to one of our amazing custodians, Refugio "Cuco" Duran! Cuco exemplifies the "Built to Serve" attitude--he's generous with his time, prioritizes students'/staff's needs, and pitches in whenever help is needed. Thanks, Cuco! #TheWilliamsWay #PrincipalProject

Thanks to the Grand Canyon Rangers for spending yesterday and today at WEMS! They've worked with all of our kindergarten through sixth grade students on special hands-on lessons ranging from history to ecology to geology. Very cool!

We'd like to welcome Audrey Houseman to our special services staff. Audrey is so caring and supportive of our students. She is an awesome addition to our WEMS teaching staff. Welcome Audrey! #thewilliamsway

Boys basketball pictures will be Saturday, January 25th at WHS before the games start. All basketball players should be at high school at 7:45 a.m. in their uniforms for photos. Thanks!

Eighteen of our WEMS students are at GCU in Phoenix this morning participating in the 4th Annual Stand Up, Speak Up, Save A Life Conference. They are surrounded by 4,000 other Arizona middle and high school students. They'll hear keynotes from leaders from around the country and participate in breakout sessions that are centered around mental health awareness and bullying awareness/prevention. Go Falcons!

Congrats to the Falcon Boys A, B, and C Basketball Teams for a great season opener yesterday! The boys swept all six of their games and the Cheer Squad was fantastic!

Attention WHS Basketball Families: Tomorrow (Jan 17) we play Mogollon at home. There will be NO JV BOYS GAME. Games will be at 4:00 (JV Girls), 5:30 (Varsity Girls), and 7:00 (Varsity Boys). Come support your Vikings in this great rivalry matchup!

Congratulations to the 100+ 3rd through 8th graders who were recognized at last night's award ceremony. Also, thank you to our award sponsors: Williams Kiwanis, WEMS PTSA, McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, and Carl's Jr.! Our hard-working students appreciate the community support!
