Greetings Williams High School Students, Staff, Parents, and Families, This is Dr. Hargis, Principal of Williams High School with an important message regarding the student parking lot at Williams High School and the return to school on Monday, August 9th, 2021. I am excited and eager for this school year to start for in person instruction on day 1. As you know, there has been a lot of construction happening here this summer to fix some of our drainage issues. One of the projects required altering the student parking lot. Due to the weather causing significant delays to completing the parking lot, it will not be completed and available for student parking at the start of the school year. Our student drivers will need to park along the streets surrounding the school, baseball field, and softball field. Please do your best to park along the school side of these streets. As you park in the community, please be mindful and respectful of the surrounding homes and businesses by minding the litter and volume of music. Please do not park in the church parking lot or in the parking lots of any businesses, do not park in staff parking or in the bus pull out, and do not block the personal driveways of community homes. I know that this will cause some additional concern for students and families, and may increase the time it takes to get to school in the morning as there will be a bit of a walk. All students must enter the school from the front entrance. For this reason, during week 1 I will allow an additional 10 minutes of travel and walking time before you are marked tardy. I look forward to seeing you all Monday morning ready to begin an amazing school year.

Greetings Williams Unified Students, Staff, Parents, and Families, This is Mr. Evans, Superintendent of Williams Unified with an important message regarding COVID 19 and a safe return to schools. First, we are excited and eager to get your children back to school and back in class for in person instruction on day 1, August 9th. Second, keeping your children safe remains our top priority, including their social and emotional well-being. We know from this pandemic that online learning, staring at more screens, and being isolated from one another is NOT in the best interest of our children. Some things that I would like to reaffirm as we head into the new school year: ARS 15-3402.05 (HB 2898) states that schools cannot require the use of face coverings by students or staff during school hours and on school property. It also states that a school district cannot require/mandate COVID vaccines. If a person wishes to get the vaccine, that is a private decision between themselves and their doctor. If a person wishes to wear a mask on campus, we will support that decision to do so. We will create a climate on our campuses that allows for and tolerates individual choice(s), while protecting individual health rights and health information. A person’s vaccine status is their own private health information/health record. We will not ask, nor compel anyone to disclose their vaccine status. This includes students, staff, and visitors to our campuses. The decision to become vaccinated or not, again, rests between you and your doctor. WUSD # 2 will continue to employ other mitigation and sanitation measures to protect individuals who enter our facilities. This will include using EPA Registered Disinfectants that kill SARS Cov-2 Virus, increasing the sanitation of high touch, high traffic areas, sanitizer wall mounts in hallways and classrooms, and the use of UVC light to disinfect rooms. The USFDA acknowledges that UVC light does inactivate SARS-Coronavirus and may also be effective in inactivating SARS CoV-2 virus. https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/uv-lights-and-lamps-ultraviolet-c-radiation-disinfection-and-coronavirus We encourage families to help remind their children about good hygiene practices, including the frequent washing of hands with soap, staying home when sick, and covering our mouth when cough or sneeze. Our school staff will continue to support and remind students of these messages throughout the school year. We look forward to a wonderful start to an amazing school year with you and your child.
