Hello from the counselor's office. As we were not able to host in person college fairs or visits I have some recommendations.
1) You can attend the college fair virtually that is in the attached flyer. This is a fair for many area community colleges and smaller universities. Remember starting at a community college can save thousands on tuition whether you get a 2 year degree from them or use it to get coursework done and transfer to a 4 year university. You can register and find the list of colleges attending on their website (virualcollegefairs.org).
2) For any school you are thinking about attending (and this is for any grade) you should go to that college's website and through their admissions department you can have a virtual tour. I encourage anyone to do this as it gives you some information about the college, it doesn't take much time, and it is FREE!
3) I am here to answer any questions or to discuss thoughts about your student's future and path forward. Just call the school or email me at jpowers@wusd2.org.
Thank You,
Mr. Powers
Go Vikings!!!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to inclement weather, the WEMS Falcon Flyers Afterschool Program will close early today at 5 p.m. All students will need to be picked up by 5 p.m. This will give families and program staff time to get home and off the roads before dark. Thank you, Dr. Morrison.
Good afternoon Williams community. This is Andrew Wollman, Director of Student Services. It is with a heavy heart that I share with you this news. On Saturday January 9th Amber McMahon, one of our amazing 2nd grade teachers, lost her husband in a car accident. This is a terrible loss for the family, especially for Mrs. McMahon and her children. The gravity of this loss is being felt around the community. The love and kindness of the community is the strongest gift we can give to the McMahon family in their time of grieving. However, if you want to help financially and are able to, please see the link following this message. Thank you for your time.

Greetings Vikings! We have been experiencing some glitches with Outlook Email and PowerSchool. We are aware of attendance calls going out this morning. We apologize.
To clarify, we are NOT in session right now. We are off until Jan 4th, Monday, when Q3/S2 (school) resumes.

Greetings Vikings! Important Statement re: Credit Reinstatement!
If you earned the credit (a passing grade of 60% or higher) in your Semester 1 classes, you will be awarded the credit!!
There will be NO Credit Reinstatement Committee for Semester 1.
We will continue to monitor the situation for Semester 2 and be prepared to make a similar decision.
Parents/Guardians, please help forward this text to your WHS students. Thank you!
Greetings Vikings. Tomorrow (12/16) and 12/17 are both half days for WHS. Buses run at 3:40 on 12/16 and at 12:40 on 12/17. It’s Final Exam Days. Tomorrow are periods 1,3,& 5 exams. Thursday are periods 2,4,& 6. If a student has an A in the course, they are exempt from taking the exam. If they received no discipline points this semester, they are exempt from their finals. Exempt students can still take a final to help improve their semester grade, but it CANNOT hurt their grade. Each final is an hour and half in length. You may not leave early if you finish early. Attendance at WHS tomorrow is only meant for those taking a final. You will be marked absent though if you’re an in person learner for recording purposes.
Good luck Vikings and let’s finish the semester strong!!
Hello families, there will be no Falcon Flyer program Thursday or Friday this week. Falcon Flyers will return Monday, Jan. 4. Have a wonderful restful break!
Hello WEMS Families: With some of you recently switching your children to remote learning, we wanted to once again share our school's Remote Learning Expectations. Please click on the link below to read more about logging on daily for attendance, being on time for ZOOM classes, and more.
Parental support is vital for students' remote learning success. Grade 3-8 families, please check children's grades once per week in PowerSchool. PK-2 Families, please stay connected and in contact with your children's teachers.
If any remote learning family needs more support with the online platform, Mr. Wollman or I will gladly meet with you for a Google Classroom/Remote Learning Tutorial Session. Thank you, Dr. Morrison

A huge thank you to Mike and Stephanie Cowen and Route 66 Auto Care for their donation of winter gear to the students of WEMS. They donated several boxes of brand new winter coats, boots, hats, and gloves to the WEMS students. If your child is in need of winter gear this season please contact the school, or have your child ask their teacher. We will pass out the winter gear we have completely free to you. We have youth XS - youth L for boys and girls. Contact Mr. Wollman (awollman@wusd2.org) if you have questions.
With the holidays approaching several business, organizations, and individuals are wanting to assist families through clothing donations, gifts, and food. If you know of a family in need during this season, please reach out to Mr. Wollman (awollman@wusd2.org) with your recommendation. Lastly, through these programs you and your family may be recommended to be on the receiving end of these generous organizations. We are all better when we work together as one.
Please contact Mr. Wollman with questions.
