Congratulations to our WEMS Falcon Flyers Afterschool Program for being 1 of only 10 schools in Arizona selected to participate in the 2020-2021 NASA STEM Challenge! This is an amazing opportunity for our Falcon Flyers to connect with NASA scientists and engineers and solve problems based upon real mission data and experiences that occur during human and robotic exploration of the solar system. Greetings WHS ONLINE LEARNERS, or anyone who might be an online learner at any point during this school year:
As a friendly reminder, please be sure to check in with all of your classes each and every school day BEFORE 3:45 pm.
Many assignments are due at midnight of the day that it is due. Attendance is different. Again, we ask that attendance check ins happen by 3:45 pm (when the regular school day is over).
If you have technical issues (i.e. cannot access the Daily Attendance feature in your Google Classroom assignments to check in), EMAIL your individual teacher(s) and notify them of your technical issues with Google Classroom and state that you are "here and present" in Google Classroom for the day.
Thank you!

Good Afternoon WEMS Families: We received some phone calls today concerning WEMS' COVID situation. Currently, WEMS has 1 positive student case and 1 positive staff case, as well as 1 positive bus driver case. All these individuals are at home isolating and we continue to follow protocol. If they have siblings/children that attend WUSD, they are home also, whether they are sick or not.
If a student or staff member is awaiting COVID test results, they too should/are staying home until WEMS has their negative results, or 10 days have passed, fever is gone for 24+ hours, and other symptoms have improved.
WEMS does remain open for in-person learning. If you wish to move your child(ren) from in-person to online, please call the front office. Our tech team will have PreK-2 devices available very soon, so please return your signed electronic agreement.
Please help us remain diligent about: staying home if sick, hand washing often (soap and water for 20+ secs), wearing a mask, social distancing where possible, covering mouth when cough/sneeze, monitoring the health of your children, and consulting your doctor when needed/desired.
We will continue to keep you up-to-date with information during this fluid time.
Greetings WHS Families: We have received many calls today asking for clarification regarding WHS's COVID situation.
As it stands right now, WHS has:
3 positive WHS student cases
1 positive teacher case
1 positive staff case (a WUSD bus driver)
All are at home isolating and we continue to follow protocol. If they have siblings/children that attend WEMS or WHS, they too are home, whether they are sick or not. We do ask each of you, if any members in your household are sick and/or positive, to please keep ALL students home, even if asymptomatic. We can utilize Google Classroom and Zoom for the time that they remain out (until cleared to return).
WHS does remain open for in person learning and fall season athletics continue. If you wish to move your child(ren) from in person to online, we can accommodate that quite easily. Just be sure to call the front office. We will respect and honor all decisions.
If a student or staff member is awaiting COVID test results, they too should/are staying home until WHS has their negative result, or 10 days have passed, fever is gone for 24+ hours, and other symptoms have improved.
We should also remain diligent about:
staying home if sick
hand washing often (soap and water for 20+ secs)
wearing a mask
social distancing where possible
covering our mouth when we cough/sneeze
continue to monitor the health of our children
consult your doctor when needed/desired
We will continue to keep you up to date with specific information during this fluid time.

Hello students and parents. The cold weather has been making our daily temp taking have very low readings. That, and the fact that the CDC is not longer recommending schools take student temps upon entry, has led the WUSD Board to do away with the daily temp taking for students upon entry to the schools. We ask that parents be diligent in screening their children for symptoms at home. We will continue having staff and visitors be screened with temp taking daily. Of course, our mask rules are still in place. Please contact your school with any questions or concerns. Make it a great day!
Falcon Families: Thursday is the last day for our PTSA Membership Drive. Please send your envelopes and payment into the school if you plan to join. New envelopes can be picked up from the front office. Currently, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are in a close race for the win! The winning grade will have a yummy ice cream sundae party!
In lieu of the games being cancelled tonight, WHS students have decided to gather and celebrate! THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL SPONSORED NOR SCHOOL SUPERVISED EVENT. All WHS students are welcome at the Cataract Lake Picnic Area. You can’t hide that Williams Viking Pride!
Greetings Vikings! We had an amazing week. I’ve never been a part of a Homecoming as great as this week has been. The participation from students, the excellent behavior, the competitive and proud spirit, it’s been great. It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the cancellation of both WHS Volleyball games and tomorrow’s Varsity Football game. The Mayer football and volleyball teams are quarantined. The Jr High Football game at 2 is still a go. Tonight my heart is heavy with this news, but full. We all should be proud of our kids, our teams, and our Viking Spirit. We will move on and we will endure. We will recognize Homecoming Royalty next week, vs. Mogollon, in conjunction with Senior Night. Bonfire at 8 pm tonight!!
