Williams Elementary-Middle School invites all new and returning families to register now! Take advantage of our social-distancing registration process by coming to our school's long hallway any Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There, you'll find registration packets, lunch forms, and more. Fill out the paperwork in the comfort of your own home and then return it to our secure drop-box in the WEMS long hallway by Monday, July 27th. Prefer to print out the paperwork yourself? Just visit our website at www.wusd2.org. Finally, we will hold brief, in-person registration for families who need additional help in late July/early August. We do, however, encourage you to register now and get a head-start on the school year because...it's going to be a great one!

To all incoming seniors who are wanting to attend a college or university. College Board (the administrators of the SAT test) have scholarship money for doing what you should be and will have to do in the next school year. By completing certains steps you automatically receive the scholarship money. For instance by signing up and just generating a list of potential colleges you receive $500. There are other steps that you will also be asked to do anyways so why not get some cash for doing these. You can sign up at collegeboard.org or follow this link: https://opportunity.collegeboard.org/about/build?SFMC_cid=EM324644-&rid=47682982 . The first step (organizing Your College List) is due by July 31st.

Hi all, Camp Civitan will be distributing meals today (drive thru style) at the Williams Rec Center from noon-2pm. They give multiple meals for any kids under 18 in the community. They plan on doing Tuesday and Friday starting next week. Shine on Camp Civitan!

Congratulations class of 2020! For upcoming seniors in the class of 2021 I want to remind all who are planning on attending any additional training after they graduate (University, community college, or trade school) that now is the time to start looking for scholarships. While many scholarships may have not opened yet there are some out there already and you should begin to get into a habit and routine of looking and applying. While there are many sites out there that are databases for all scholarships some of my favorite that you should sign up for are Going Merry, FastWeb, Scholarship.com, and StudentScholarships.org. College Board has some oney just for doing what you are going to be doing anyways your senior year. Also look for apps as there are oodles of those too. University, community college, or trade schools can be expensive but if you put in the time you could do these for free! Have a great summer and be safe.
-Mr. Powers
