The Department of Economic Security is experiencing enormous call volume. Instead of waiting and using precious cell phone minutes, families can now access and apply for assistance through a simple local call to North County Community Assistors. They will provide application assistance for SNAP (Food Stamps), AHCCCS and Kids Care. Audio-recorded signatures, waived premiums for Kids Care, and more are all available during these times. Please call Abby Sanchez at 928-522-1104 for help.

Greetings WHS Families that pick up packet work for WHS students: When requesting work at WEMS or ANY of our 3 other remote locations, it is imperative that you please tell us: 1. Course Name AND 2. Teacher Name Multiple teachers teach different courses within the same subject and not all kids are necessarily in a course that is usually reserved for a certain grade. By doing this, we can get you faster and better service and your child gets exactly what they need. Thank you for your assistance with this. It will save very valuable time and help us to keep long lines on Mondays moving. Be Well. Mr. Evans

Greetings WHS Students: So, you've made a great decision in working with your teacher(s) during this closure to improve your Q3 grades. If you need packets, how do you turn them in when completed? WHS prefers something like a free Adobe Scan or Microsoft Office Lens app. Directions on how to use Adobe Scan will be sent shortly in a separate email/text. We encourage using your cell phone to use the app and send the scan/packet via cellular data to your teacher via the email app on your phone. Thank you!

The Rec Center and WUSD #2 are partnering up to offer a special COVID-19 Spring Egg Hunt! Color a paper egg and hang it on your window, door, or fence by end-of-day Wednesday, April 8th. Then, between Thursday and Sunday, take the family for a drive and hunt eggs from the comfort and safety of your vehicle's backseat. Paper eggs will be available at all WUSD #2 food meal sites starting tomorrow. On Thursday, the Rec Center has donated candy-filled eggs to be distributed at meal sites. #RideNSeekWilliams

Hi all! Remember this is homework Monday. Hardcopy assignments are being distributed with meals at the 4 sites: WEMS, Parks, Valle, and 64Shell.

WEMS is partnering with you to ensure your child continues learning during the school closure. New weekly paper learning packets will continue to be available for pick-up at meal sites every Monday. Starting this Thursday, paper packets can be turned in at meal sites every Thursday. Work submitted cannnot hurt a child's 2nd semester grade, but can definitely improve it! So, turn that work in! Online learning continues through Google Classroom and other platforms. Google Classroom access codes vary by teacher and grade, so contact your teacher or the school for more information. Also, every teacher will soon be starting weekly office hours. This could look different depending upon the grade level. It might be a show and tell, an interactive lesson, a science experiment demo, or a Q & A for students and parents on how to do some of that challenging schoolwork! WEMS is "Built to Serve" and we thank you for working with us.

Hello Eighth Grade Students and Families. COVID-19 has certainly thrown our eighth graders' final year of middle school into a bit of a tailspin. Despite this, please know that all of the teachers and staff at WEMS are very proud of this eighth grade class--The WHS Class of 2024! These eighth graders have been hard workers and strong leaders in our school. We look forward to celebrating each and every one of them at a proper promotion ceremony. Although we cannot set a date yet, we promise that the Class of 2024 WILL have a wonderful Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony!

Greetings WHS Seniors & Parents/Guardians of WHS Seniors: The last few weeks have presented some very uncertain & uneasy times for folks all over the country & all over the world. Schools, sports seasons & events cancelled all over the world. Public gatherings limited to 10 or less people, 6 feet apart, etc. Certainly anxious times. During these uncertain times, it is nice once in a while to get some news that is certain. Our promise to our Senior Class of 2020 is: At some point, when conditions allow, WHS WILL hold a Commencement/Graduation Ceremony of some kind. We don't know when, or how yet, but our commitment to our Seniors tonight, is that WHS WILL find a way to celebrate this wonderful, lifelong accomplishment. Stay tuned & Be Well. Our thoughts are with you. Mr. Evans & the WHS Team***

Greetings and Good Morning WHS. Some good questions have been coming in about Q3/Q4. The opportunity to raise your Q3 grade can only help you. It cannot hurt your Q3/S2 grades. There are no Q4 grades this year. This opportunity for Q3 is also voluntary. I strongly encourage ALL students to take advantage of this opportunity. Some could go from an F to a passing grade and get credit, others might want to raise a B to an A. Please work with your teachers. Thank you! Mr. Evans***
